Hello, it's been awhile, but I am back with a new hobby.... Glitter bows 😍
My youngest Daughter is obsessed with bows and we kept seeing these glitter bows online so I decided to try and make them myself... well I am so in love with them as is my Daughter. I didn't do too well the first few attempts, using a template I got from got from pinterest, but I got there in the end with my own template I made. These were the first bows I made.
No photos of 1st attempts but these are the first bows I made that my Daughter could wear. I used this template that I found on Pinterest.

I then made my own template, which I have since chucked away because *excited squeel* for my birthday I got this amazing machine, the sizzix big shot and a bow die by Brenda Martha. It's an amazing craft machine, it cuts paper, card, Glitter fabrics and canvas fabrics, pvc/vinyl fabrics and probably a lot more. It has plates that you put the fabric (or whatever) on then you place the cutter on and another plate on top then turn the handle to guide it through, it rolls firmly onto the plates and cuts the pattern, bish, bash, bosh you're then ready to piece them together with hot glue to form the bows. I might get into card making as this is amazing for cutting and even embossing card toppers. Only problem is the die cutters aren't cheap. Although I've seen on Aliexpress you can get them cheap.... but cheap isn't always a good thing.
Anyway went a little off track, having this die cutting machine means it's so much quicker and easier for me to make bows which makes my Daughter very happy, which makes me happy to see her so excited and, tbh it's been like therapy for me, when I need to shut my brain off for a while (mostly from grieving the loss of my Dad) I completely zone out on the world and my brain and just make beautiful glittery bows, Like these
These are just a few, I have a box full that I have made and will be selling at a craft fayre. I buy flatback embellishments online from Aliexpress or from places like ebay and a place like etsy called tictail. (I think that's it's name) and glue them on as I think they make the bows even more special.
Hope you like the bows and I think I will try and make a tutorial showing you how I made them, with a template and then with the die cutting machine. As sharing is caring and they are so easy to do, my middle Child (11) can do them (with a little guidance) watch this space, and if you have read this then thank you and hope you have a lovely day.
Ta ta, for now
